Dr. Chris Cohen is the founder and clinical director of Backbone, LLC in Gig Harbor, Washington, where he has served the community since 2003 with a deep commitment to restoring health through neurologically focused chiropractic care. With over two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Cohen holds board certification as a Chiropractic Neurologist (DACNB) and is certified in Clinical Chiropractic Neurology (CCCN). His expertise centers on complex neurological conditions, concussion management, chronic pain, postural correction, and spinal trauma rehabilitation.
Dr. Cohen earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic and has completed extensive postgraduate training through the Carrick Institute, Pettibon Institute, and Spine Research Institute of San Diego. He is an advanced-certified provider in Whiplash and Brain Traumatology, with ongoing education in functional neurology and vestibular rehabilitation. His clinical work integrates cutting-edge diagnostics, evidence-informed protocols, and compassionate, individualized care.
A respected educator, Dr. Cohen regularly teaches continuing education courses to healthcare professionals across the U.S., including faculty appointments with the Pettibon Institute and guest lectures for the CLEAR Scoliosis Institute. He also serves as a Chiropractic Consultant and Independent Medical Examiner for the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries.
Dr. Cohen is actively engaged in his community, having served on the Board of Directors for the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce and as a worship musician in local congregations for over two decades. Outside the clinic, he holds a 5th degree black belt and continues to mentor students in martial arts, posture restoration, and mind-body integration.
