Stephen Wagner DC

Portland Whiplash & Spine

Dr. Wagner has been treating trauma patients in Portland for over a decade and is frequently sought for complicated cases. His focus is on getting the right diagnosis so that the right treatment and referrals will help you recover from your crash related injuries.

Dr. Wagner also has additional training through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego, including their advanced courses which involve the latest research in how motor vehicle crash injuries occur as well as diagnosing, treating, and working with a team of other medical providers who have different fields of strength. This way, we make sure you and your injuries come first.

Sometimes there may be disputes about the nature, cause, or severity of injuries. In order to understand his patient’s injuries further, Dr. Wagner has taken several courses in crash scene investigation, crash reconstruction, and was the first doctor in Portland to be certified in downloading and interpreting crash data from the “black box” in vehicles.

In addition to cervical disc and lumbar disc injuries that commonly occur in crashes, Dr. Wagner specializes in other injuries that may cause headaches, dizziness, tinnitus (ringing in the ears), balance problems, or complicated pain patterns. This includes cases that may have been misdiagnosed as a concussion or brain injury, and may include spinal instability (cervical instability), upper neck instability (craniocervical syndrome), cervicomedullary syndrome, atlantoaxial instability, ectopic cerebellar tonsils, Chiari Malformation (CMI), and CSF leaks just to name a few.

He speaks English and Spanish fluently.
